The stability of mRNA essentially depends on the stability of its poly(A) at the 3′ end.

Mathusalem biotechnology involves modifying poly(A) in a non-chemical and non-enzymatic manner, in order to render it more resistant to RNases.

It allows the production of an mRNA giving a level of protein expression approximately 5 times higher from 24 hours until several weeks post-transfection in cultured human cells.
